Dance Jockey, composed of Ståle Skogstad and Yago de Quay, is an one-of-a-kind electronic music performance where sounds are controlled by sensors on the dancer’s body. These sensors acquire data about body actions and transmit the information to a software that manipulates a broad range of musical parameters. The result is an electrifying theatrical performance that re-contextualizes electronic dance music away from acoustic instruments and laptops towards an exciting live act.
On the 28th of May I performed 3 of my songs in Oslo. They combine analog and digital methods to provide a unique way to perform electronic music. This is them bellow. Beats composed by me. Guitar get the synth sound thru “mda tracker” VST. Effects controlled by the x,y,z data from my cell phone stuck on the guitar.
Using a wii remote and a lot of programing (max/msp/liveosc/clyphx), i am able to control all of ableton live with my guitar. This makes it possible to perform sets with a live instrument! All done in real-time: auto-tune, synth control and live set control. should be performing this nex week in the UK, London, Milton Keys.
